Listen to your dread

Listen to your dread

Recently, a client shared at the start of our session they were dreading the thought of meeting. Before we met, they admittedly ruminated on the fact they hadn’t done anything of their action plan. That showed me success and honesty mattered. The action we had prioritized last week wasn’t congruent with their values.

There are numerous clues in your hidden 98% to understand which lifestyle “tweak” can help you move closer to become what you want. When people generously attune you to those, it offers a rich opportunity to explore together. The “tweak” might be to solve an environmental cue.

Cues stimulate you to do what you actually want to do. They’re pleasurable and can help you create a habit cadence, align with what you value, and demand little to no mental effort. Audibles, visuals, aromas, textures are a few cues that can help you make meaning of what you seek to routinely prioritize.

So, I’m here to remind you that not doing something is actually an opportunity to align your values with meaningful priorities. Follow along to work the COS for building a social circle that can help with clues (now or later) to explore your environmental cues:

Context: who are the people that support your interests? Do they also challenge you on choices that conflict with your values? Both help.

Occupation: are those people engaging with curiosity? Are they playful with less of a focus on you (or them) doing it perfectly? Both ignite flow.

Sense: is there a sense of secure attachment with those people? Do you gain a feeling of resilience in those relationships? Both associate.
