Houston, we have a problem.

Houston, we have a problem.

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support and engagement over the years. As one of the 242 individuals receiving this email, Iā€™m truly thankful for the 51% of you who have collaborated with me or our GIG teammates during the past 7 years. Your involvement has played an integral role in shaping our community, and we're excited to continue effort towards greater understanding together.

Today, I'd like to address a common challenge we've encountered - the question of what exactly GIG Design does. We understand that our approach may be perceived as unconventional within the industries of health and wellness professionals. But that's what makes us unique, a start to the conversation here in facilitating meaningful action in people's lives.

At the heart of GIG Design's philosophy lies a fusion of occupational therapy (O.T.) principles, coaching techniques, and design strategies. Our mission is to empower individuals to create environments tailored to their personal aspirations, and in doing so, foster changes that resonate and endure.

Occupational therapy, often denoted by the acronym O.T., centers around aiding people in engaging in activities that are significant to them. The term "occupation" encompasses the spectrum of activities involved in our lives daily. Here, we recognize that we all have the capacity to shape our environments, and by personalizing these environments - with intention - we understand and live the potential for our uniquely meaningful lifestyle.

Enter GIG Design - where O.T. principles intertwine seamlessly with coaching and design methodologies. Our dedicated team assists individuals in crafting lifestyle factors and competencies that hold personal significance. We firmly believe that by aligning with an individual's values, capabilities, and interests, we ignite autonomy, elevate challenges to manageable levels, and guide profound personal growth.

The crux of our approach can be summed up in the concept of "health equilibrium." This concept encompasses the dynamic of five essential activity domains: physical, occupational, intellectual, social, and existential. Represented by the acronym P.O.I.S.E., this framework serves as the foundation for our methodology.

In a previous newsletter, I introduced a small yet potent experiment within our community - the initiation of a social activity as an initial actionable practice. By self-assessing and establishing a baseline within a personalized activity, you set the stage for vitality and motivation.

As we continue towards personal betterment and meaningful change, I invite you to stay connected and informed. If you haven't already, I encourage you to follow GIG Design on LinkedIn. These platforms provide a valuable opportunity to stay updated on our insights, success stories, and ongoing endeavors.

Thank you for being an essential part of the GIG Design community. Your presence and engagement drive us to explore new frontiers connecting health with design.
