Just say it
It could be risky to tell you about an intention I’ve been contemplating. Last week, I started to say it out loud to a few close friends.
To be honest, it feels fragile and sounds unpolished. At times, it’s twisting my gut in knots. But here’s the thing: saying it out loud feels like relief. The vitality of change involves the willingness to express it. Competency takes practice. Actions designed to improve self-awareness skills empower our capability to change.
Here’s how I’m “working the COS” of my intention:
Contextualize intention by calling, meeting, emailing, or texting someone. A potentially messy version of my intended reality (or yours) can benefit from people who listen to understand — rather than fix it. It might be helpful to first practice saying it out loud alone.
Occupy intention by engaging your surroundings. What you now know and want can actually benefit from materializing a nudge in a space or a daily routine.
Sense intention by understanding what’s real. A felt-sense of total control can benefit from assessing how real or sustainable it is.
What’s an intention of yours? Do you struggle with change?
